Imagine being a cute little cat and finding yourself alone at home after something scary has happened to your human. Thats exactly what takes place in the world of the cute puzzle game Ghostly Whiskers. But before all of this, we have to create what our little friends look like and what their name will be. Of course, every chance I get, I create my very own version of my tabby cat Gizzy. The likeness was as close as I could get it; I was very pleased with how my kitty looked. You can play this game in co-op mode or alone. I myself chose to play alone.

We start off asleep, woken by a noise, worried, we look around to see what could have happened to find that the bedroom and balcony door are both locked, off we go to explore the house and find a key. Whilst doing so, I come to find that movement isn't the best; it didn't feel smooth, and the controls felt awkward at times. I pushed on to see if I was able to get used to them; luckily, it was the case. There is some open exploration that gives you free roam to find what you need to progress, things like scratch posts that help unlock a new ability, the first of which was being able to hit boxes and making them disappear.
Floating cat-faced cookies appear in different parts of the game. You don't need to collect them; they help you purchase different little hats for your feline friend to use. I won't lie, they look very cute on my little kitty, and I did buy a few; they weren't really my priority when playing, just a nice add-on. The guy selling them is terrifying, though. The graphics are very simplistic, nothing breathtaking or distracting to get in the way of your mission. What mission is that? Well, you need to rescue your human. There are clear signs that some kind of monster has nabbed them. How can one tiny creature do all this? With sheer determination.

The game lets players know what they need to do in the form of a mini checklist in the top left-hand corner of the screen. There are no thrills or cryptic hints; it just gets to the point. The difficulty of the game could be argued, it's not very accessible for players, and they will have a hard time with jumping, balancing and trying to make their way around enemies. I died countless times trying to get past the spiders. You have to be very careful with movement, especially when the light radar they let off starts to pick up on your movement. I would have also liked to have a picture mode. Whenever I went to take screenshots for this review, it would pause the menu and take a picture of that. I had no choice but to save a video of my gameplay to take screenshots; all games should have a photomode.

Simplistic games like this are always my go-to for a wind-down, especially when I'm not in a big gaming mood. This is also a perfect game for puzzle players who love cosy games. I really enjoyed it, besides the controls, it took me around an hour and a half to finish, probably quicker for players who can get past those damn spiders. I would like to see what other adventures this little kitty goes on.
