My top 6 picks from E3 2017.

Wednesday 14 June 2017

Saturday night James and I sat down to watch the live E3 footage via IGN, I watch E3 nearly every year and I'm forever getting pumped over the newest releases and new trailers and this time was no exception, EA kicked things off with their latest releases and to be honest it's twisted my arm to get a game I wasn't too keen on when the first one came out and that game was Star Wars Battlefront, my reason for not being too keen was that it was just online playing only there was no campaign story and playing through them is something I've always enjoyed doing. They announced that Star Wars Battlefront 2 would have a story campaign, which I can definitely see myself playing. I didn't realise that it had been 2 years since I got James the first one and what we found is you need a really good internet connection to do anything because James couldn't connect properly at all in order to play Battlefront 1 even though the internet where he was wasn't that bad. Battlefront 2 will also feature Characters and locations from the prequel and sequel Star Wars movies which are what makes it all the more exciting to play, it will be set to be released in November of this year, I think the first one was actually released in November of 2015 available on all platforms.

One other game which was announced is called A Way Out, This game will take me right back to the days of using split screen. It's been a while since I've actually played a split screen game seeing as I either play with people online or play games by myself so it's going to be cool to be able to play split screen with James. This game is an action adventure game which you play from a third person perspective, as I said before it is split screen so you can either play with another person you're in the same room with or play co-op split screen online. They're two characters in this game called Leo and Vincent, they're convicts who manage to break out of prison together and they have to stay on the run so the authorities can't catch them. There are times within the game where one player will have to watch what the other is doing as it's not set to let you both play at the same time all the time, you will need to cooperate with each other in order to progress further into the game and dialogue options as well as actions you choose to do will have an effect on what the ending of the game will be. I most excited about this game because it goes back to the days where we would sit and play split screen as children and I like that we will have to work as a team, for instance, one character will have to distract a guard in the prison whilst the other one will have to find something that will help them break out. A Way Out is available on Microsoft Windows, PS4 and Xbox One and is set to be released next year (2018).

Life is Strange: Before the storm trailer finally dropped, which I'm so excited for and it's the prequel to Life Is Strange, I've always wanted to know more about how Chloe ended up meeting the people she knew that led to the events of her dying and Max having to save her. I'm hoping Max is in this one still but I doubt there will be any aspect of her reversing time as Max hadn't discovered it by then, I can see myself pre-ordering this soon because the more I see of the trailer the more I want to find out about Chloe, even if she could be a bit of a dick now and then, there isn't too much known about this game but from the trailer but I sat down and watched some game play and saw that it was very similar to the first besides Chloes voice, the actress who played her in the first one is on an actors strike so couldn't do it. A lot of people are saying the voice doesn't matter becaue she is younger but the events taking place in the second one aren't that long before the events from the first. it looks like it will be just as popular as the first. I did a post on my thoughts on the first one which you can read HERE. It will be available on Microsoft Windows, PS4 and Xbox One and is set to be released on the 31st of August this year and will apparently have only 3 episodes.

Assassin's Creed Origins was a much-awaited announcement from Sunday, it had been leaked a lot because people can't seem to keep things to themselves, I'm glad the leaked pictures are what was actually announced rather than being disappointed that the leaks were fake. I'm really pleased that it will be set in Egypt it's been something I've wanted them to do for a while and now they finally have I will be getting it just because of that reason. Once again this AC is an action adventure and the 10th in the series, it will be available on Microsoft Windows, PS4 and Xbox One. The game is taking place in Egypt as I said before and is based on fictional history. The story follows Bayek who is a Medjay, who tries his best to protect his people from threats in Egypt, you will be able to explore and roam Egypt freely as it has an open world design and you will get to play from third person view. I'm most excited about being able to explore via boat! As well as this you can get about on horseback and by foot. it is set to be released October 27th of this year.

As soon as the trailer came on for this I was taken back to Assassins Creed Blackflag, it may not be one of my favourite games but I did enjoy what I played of it! The sea in Skull & Bones had me sold, the graphics looked great as did the game play, it is a multiplayer tactical action adventure game which is played as third person. You will be able to be a pirate captain and can choose from sailing the Indian Ocean by yourself with your own crew or have up to five other players to ally or battle with. You will be using the wind move with so you can gain advantage within the battle, whilst battling you have to collect loot and whoever has the most loot by the end of the game wins. I'm going to apply for the Beta so I can try it out and see what I think of it, Skull & Bones is available on Microsoft Windows, PS4 and Xbox One and is set to be released next year (2018).

A lot of people have been waiting 15 years to play this games, I'm not trying to jump on a bandwagon and fangirl over it much because I didn't ever play the first one, I knew I recognised the name of it though. From the looks of the trailer for the newest announcement, it might have just made me want to play the first in the series. Beyond Good and Evil 2 is an action-adventure game and a prequel to Beyond Good and Evil, the second one is meant to be the first part of a trilogy, there is a long story as to what happened with the Beyond Good and Evil games so I'm not going to get into it. There still isn't much known about Beyond Good and Evil 2 but from the trailer, I saw it looked pretty awesome, I know it was only a cinematic trailer for the game and the graphics always look better but it had me hooked. The game is still apparently in development right now so we don't know when it will officially be released, but what I can tell you is that I will definitely be buying it when it does come out.

One last thing, if any of you saw the trailer for Detroit: Become Human, you will see that Jesse Williams is in it! He is currently one of my celeb crushes and I'm so hyped about being given the chance to play as him in a game! James and I ended up catching up on some of the announcements because a lot of them ran too late to watch, What games are you hyped for that were announced at E3?
