Hampers by Lucy.

The day before my birthday (it was a Friday) there was a package delivered to me from my lovely friend Amanda, who is due to have her baby any time now!! It was a hamper from hampers by Lucy, the funny thing about this delivery was I ordered her baby a hamper from the same place to be delivered on the same day, so I started to panic when I saw a hamper had been delivered to my house, I foolishly thought I had put my address as the delivery address on Amanda's package but luckily that wasn't the case.

The package Amanda chose me was the girls night in hamper, I'm glad she chose this as I'm one of those girls who would rather pamper myself than go out and get drunk off my face, inside there was; socks, sweeties and popcorn, hot chocolate, nail varnish, a face mask, a hanging love heart and a cute little bracelet, all perfect for a girly night in which I had with James ( he munched all my munchies!). I love the idea of a hamper and they come at a great price, they're perfect presents to get someone who is maybe having a hard time or needs a break, especially the girls night in hamper. My favourite thing in the hamper was the wish strings bracelet, it may be a very simple bracelet but the idea behind it is a cute one. You make a wish, tie the bracelet around your wrist and when it eventually breaks away your wish will come true, yes I know fairy tails and wishes are normally for kids but it such a sweet little thing to put a smile on someones face. Also, the socks I got with the hamper have cute little bees all over them which match perfectly with my new bedsheets from wilkos.

The hamper I chose for Amanda was called the baby caterpillar hamper which I thought would be a nice change from the normal teddy hampers with the blue and pink bears, Amanda actually told me that her partner chose the hungry caterpillar theme so the hamper I had sent matched perfectly with it. Hampers By Lucy do a variety of hampers ranging from babies, to Christmas, I'm actually thinking of getting a hamper this Christmas for James (along with other presents) these hampers are a big help for those who are clueless over what to get someone! Hampers by Lucy is now in it's second business year and is stocked in several boutiques such as All by Mama and even Amazon.

My birthday!

The weekend before last it was my 27th birthday and I got to spend it with James, I was happy it fell on a Saturday as me and him spend weekends together. I wasn't expecting much for my birthday seeing as I'm getting old now and birthdays aren't as magical and special as they use to be when I was younger, the day before my birthday a package arrived for me, it was from the lovely Amanda who said she had ordered a little surprise for me, when it came I actually though it was the package I had sent her and that I had mistakenly put my address as the delivery address but it turns out that we both had got each other a present from the same place which was being delivered on the same days (what are the chanced of that), She sent me a hamper from Hampers by Lucy which I will be Blogging about as soon as I can, thank you for being so thoughtful and supportive Amanda! but I was pleasantly surprised when my parents suggested I have my birthday with them a day early seeing as I was spending my actual birthday with James. I got some beautiful Pandora earrings from my parents, some ecotools make up brushes and a hair bow from my younger twin sisters. When I got to James's on the Saturday morning he gave me my card with a Pandora crown charm inside and told me to re read the card which said "I hope you enjoy your presents" he was like "so that means I got you more than one". I was obviously very happy about this and he handed me a little box with the necklace I wanted in. I was sitting on his bed putting my necklace on and he told me that he has one last present for me (the best one) and he handed me a black box with the Fitbit HR inside, I appreciate it so much because I really wanted one to keep an eye on my heart rate and he thought that the HR would be the right one for that (he was very right). That evening he took me for a meal at The White Hart Hotel in St Austell and we had a lovely meal, he is such a sweetheart for actually knowing what to get me, I really wouldn't of minded a card and a cake. I loved all my presents and enjoyed myself a lot, I can finally say I like my birthday again!

On the 5th of September I attended a wedding with James, two of his good mates were marrying each other and I felt very happy that he asked me to come with him. I wasn't feeling too well in the morning and thought that I was going to faint at the wedding luckily that didn't happen! The whole day was beautiful and I enjoyed myself a lot, the bride and groom both looked wonderful and I wish them all the best in their future together, here are a few pictures from the day:

I hope everyone is enjoying September as much as I am!

Rimmel London Stay Matte foundation.

I have been seeing so many good reviews about this foundation so I decided to bite the bullet and try it out myself. I picked it up from my local Wilkos for £5.98, my boyfriend was less than impressed that such a tiny bottle cost nearly £6. I'm always on the search for a light foundation for my fair skin and with all the hype I thought it may be too good to be true, I was proved very very wrong! I'm not a big fan of have a dewy looking face, it just makes me feel greasy and looks horrid on me so I prefer a matte finish.

The tube is very small and looks like it would run out quickly but a little does go a long way in my case, this foundation is pefect for me as it's best for oil to combination skin and provided me with medium coverage, it I go over it a second time it gives me full coverage. It comes in eight different shades that range from medium skin tone to fair as I said before I have a very fair skin tone, The porcelain shade is a perfect fit for my skin tone, well near enough! My face has always been light than the rest of my body so it matches with my neck rather then my face. To apply this foundation I use the real techniques buffing brush which I got with my Real techniques core collection from Boots. The reason I prefer using this brush is because it spreads the foundation out more evenly than my fingers do and the foundation does dry very fast.

This foundation is truly a matte finish and if you do have oily or combination skin give it a go, My biggest issue is that is has brought me out in spots around my nose, I never get spots around that area. My skin has started to get use to the foundation now so my breakout's have become less. I love the consistency of the foundation and think it would work well in a pump bottle because sometimes I  squeeze too much out of the bottle. I you want to try this out you can get it from Boots for £5.99 (1p difference in price to Wilkos).
