PS5 Review

*Disclaimer: I was sent the code for this game on PS5 in return for a review; all opinions are mine and mine alone.

Have you ever wanted to be a cat and cause destruction? That's exactly what players will be doing when they play Cat from Hell, the game is a cat simulator where you take on the role as a cat who lives with an old lady, you live with another cat who fell off the back of santas sleigh and down the chimney, This cat is dead set on getting you in trouble and you will find yourself trying to pin all the blame on them to get your own back and get them out for good. Of course, the game had to have a stereotypical old white lady who loves cats, who could resist the urge of another fluffy friend to invite into your home, especially one who has no idea what they let themselves in for.

Cat From Hell started life out as a console game and was eventually released on mobile a few months later. It's pretty simplistic and generic, but also has some fun elements. There are two modes to choose from: sandbox mode (which is free roam) and story mode. The story mode is a bit more challenging as you're given a certain number of tries before you're kicked to the curb when you're caught trying to get rid of the other cat. The old lady can be very intimidating with her anger towards you, she would happily smack a cat with a frying pan, how mean is that! The new cat will happily follow the old lady around the house, so it's simple enough to get away with your revenge.

Walking around the home, there are lots of destructive decor that stands out, you can run and hide or climb as high as you want to get away from the old lady, I won't lie, it gets boring fast and I felt like I had caused as much distraction as I could have done within less than an hour. Glitches often caused me to get caught or for the other cat in the house to be stuck in one spot, at one point they were just floating on top of a broken lamp walking and no matter how much I tried to move them, it didn't work.

It's a nice little time waster, described as cosy, and on some level, I guess you could call it that, if it had more levels and a bigger element to it, I would happily sit down and play it through for a little longer.
